Adder
Modern meaning
Traditionally used almost exclusively in a negative sense, the adder (or any snake) in modern logos has gained some respectability/coolness and is seen in logos for games, sports teams etc.
Probably the most common use of snakes in logos today is in the caduceus medical symbol where one or two snakes are coiled around a pole and placed in front of or below a pair of wings.
Little distinction is made between adders and other snakes in terms of their symbolic meaning in modern logo design.
