Anvil
Modern meaning
Traditionally associated with work, the anvil nowadays is more commonly seen as a sturdy, heavy weapon in cartoons. Its relative lack of positive symbolic meaning makes it poorly suited to logo design.
Interestingly, an anvil combined with a hammer was traditionally seen as a symbol of creative force with the anvil representing the female, receptive force and the hammer the male, active force.
